Karen has lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was 11 years old. Since 2014, our friends and family have rallied around her — at walks, raffles, and fundraisers — to raise money for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), funding the research that will, one day, make pricks a thing of the past.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder that can strike anyone, at any age. There are no days off — it means needles, sensors, pump changes, and constant vigilance, every single day. Despite remarkable advances in technology, pricks are still very much required.
That's why we started team #NoMorePricks. Through the incredible generosity of friends, family, and our wider community, our small-but-mighty team has raised over $86,000 for Breakthrough T1D research — across walks, fundraising events, zoo years, and everything in between.
This year, we're going bigger with a goal of raising $15,000, which will push us past $100,000 in lifetime fundraising. We'll be back on the route at the Breakthrough T1D Walk in Philadelphia this November — and we'd love to have you with us.
Every dollar goes to Breakthrough T1D research to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 diabetes. You can donate directly to our team, or reach out at info@nomorepricks.org if you'd like to walk, sponsor, or host a fundraiser with us.
